Canine nutrition
Canine nutrition is a subject I believe has a huge influence on your dogs behaviour, with all the dog foods and dog treats on the market now telling you they do wonderful magic things to your dog, how do you know wher to turn!
So in this short blog post I wanted to give you some tips on canine nutrition and how it can improve your dogs health and behaviour for the better.
Canine nutrition tip 1
Remove all preservatives from your dogs food. So what you are looking for is any e numbers , colours or artificial preservatives. These ingredients will have the same effect on your dogs as they do on children.
Tip 2
Look on the list of ingredients for the quality of food being used, poor quality foods such as meat meal, beet pulp etc will make your dog feel low in itself and sluggish. If your dog just generally feels crap he will behave differently.
Tip 3
Add vitamins and minerals to your dogs food. Vits and mins are part of the building blocks of life, but some can be used to lower stress levels, some can be used to raise the immune system of your dog.
Tip 4
Give your dog something to chew on. Chewing helps release feel good endorphins in your dogs brain, if he chews he feels better about himself, sounds familiar yeah! just look at us with chocolate.
Tip 5
Feed your dog on real food. Dogs are designed to eat raw meats, bones etc. If I wasto give you one of these meal replacement drinks athletes use every meal, you would become pretty fed up! not to mention your health would suffer because of it. In my opinion complete dog food is just a supplement to supplement a real varied diet. Go on give your dog a treat
