Whilst running this morning I came across a fox caught in a snare, I decided since I was out with my dogs to take them home and come back to release it. Although the fox was concerned about me it let me release the snare then ran off, stopping once to having quick look back. I was under the impression that snaring was illegal, so rang the RSPCA, the informed me that this type of snare was not illegal. How can any snare not be illegal ? the animal will still die as I doubt they are checked on a regular basis. I know understand snares are set for rabbits and foxes as they are classed as vermin, BUT how many other animals could be caught in these snares.
snares
I like yourself thought that all snares were illegal, how wrong can we be.Having not realized that there are different types of snare,i assumed that they were illegal reguardless.Surely a snare is a snare whatever way you look at them and are equally as cruel .At least you saved one grateful Fox for the time being ,i bet that was a good feeling!!!
